Birds have been captivating me since a budgie/parakeet flew into the window of my studio in New York. He was very sick and I nursed him back to health. Since then, I have come to appreciate the birds that congregate right outside of my window. I encourage them with bird feeders. I am fascinated by the thought that they are distant relatives of dinosaurs and that perhaps we might learn a thing or two from them upon close observation. These ceramic pieces are my homage to their beauty, intelligence and mystery.
